Inspired by the prolific photographic essays of Alien Stardust, I thought it would be cool to have a thread exclusively for any and all psych related band photos and fliers, past or present. Post yours or any others that you can use or links if you can't. Band photos seems like a boring title, but I thought it would be more relatable than Hot Guys of Indie Psych. Who in the hell needs Dane Cook anyway? Gotta start with the man himself, of course.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/valeriamelissia/ / CC BY-NC-ND 2.0

Any fans out there wondering what Anton's upper body situation was like regarding teeth, hair, tats. moles etc.- wonder no more! btw- Not sure,I think I'm seeing an silver amalgam filling? ( they contain mercury)- Anton should consider getting to a biological dentist, and get that removed according to the protocol and replaced with a biocompatible material.

That tooth looks like it is on the verge of being painfully bothersome!
Zinnia, I know you were half joking but...mercury fillings have been used for years and years. My head is full of them as are most of my generation and my parents generation. Dentists here are rolling in dough and most are sharks and just see $$ signs and want to immediately do "corrective procedure" racking up astronomical fees. If you are lucky your insurance company may pay 50% but usually much less. Hell, I even question how many of my fillings I have that I TRULY needed. It's easy money for them. Call me a cynic...but that's what I believe.

While I certainly understand and share your cynicism about the medical industry, in this case the facts are undeniable. Mercury is a proven neurotoxin and it has other deleterious effects on the body. It also releases/vaporizes into the body from these fillings. My question is why would you want to put or leave a toxic substance in your body if you don't have to? Additionally, Why should it be acceptable to release any toxic substance into the environment? Sure, they say that this small amount of toxic this or that won't hurt, but they never measure the cumulative effects of all these substances. In terms of amalgam fillings, even if a person doesn't experience any acute reaction, why leave it there to release and possibly build up in your organs over time? It's certainly not going to improve your health in any way. I feel we have to start saying no to this sort of game. I'm sure the insurance industry doesn't want to pay to have people removing these fillings, so they have an interest in having it seen as perfectly safe. And I suppose the dental establishment isn't too keen on admitting that an accepted practice has not been inthe best interests of their patients. That's seems to be the way the medical establishment works. Slow to change. Totally agree that dental prices are through the roof. Medical tourism seems to be the answer for those of us who don't have insurance.

Yes, that I do know...what I am not sure about is just how toxic it is because of the seemingly small amount/low level used in the fillings. I'm not a scientist nor in the medical community so my cynicism of the dental industry makes me defensive. Perhaps it is yet another toxin in our environment that aids in alzheimers or the many cancers we all seem to eventually die from?
