Hi Everyone,
I just started playing guitar (acoustic) and would like the first song I learn to play be by BJM. What tune would be the easiest for a novice to learn? Thank you!

a lot of BJM songs are quite easy to learn, which is good! i can't say whats the easiest, but a song like Sailor is relatively easy to learn. go for it!

Jesus is as well, and a bit slower, which I think would be good for a beginner.

Ballad of Jim Jones is easy yet soulful:

-A-------------D---------A
I walked to NY and back from LA
-A-------------------D----------A
I lived on a mountain and once by the bay
--A----------------D-------------A
i bought an apartment and I've slept in the hay
---------------E
but theres no place thats softer than...

Repeat for each verse

I was sitting around today playing & realised i really wanna play that song & suck for figuring it out on my own.

hey, this is one of my favorite ones to play just acoustic!

i'm not sure if it's dead on, but heres how i do it.

Intro-
A D E D A D E (speeds up on that last E)

verse-
A-----------------D--------E
drank a lot... survive.... alive

insert the Asus and Dsus as you see fit.

hope this helps!!

'feel it' is only three chords- A (for 3 bars) then C, then D
i've noticed anton almost always plays the C/G version of a C chord which is tabbed like this-

E--0--
B--1--
G--0--
D--2--
A--3--
E--3--

it just repeats these three chords in this order-

Am | Am/E | D | D/A | Am | Am/E | G6 | D | Am | Am/E | G6 | D | Am | G6 | Am | (Am) |

the Am/E chords are tabbed like this-
first one second one
E--0-------------0----
B--1-------------1----
G--2-------------2----
D--2-------------2----
A----------------X----
E----------------0----

and as far as i can make out the G chords are all G6 chords because when you play a proper G it doesn't sound right and the G6 just looks like this-

E--0----
B--0----
G--0----
D--0----
A-(2)----
E--3----

the Am | G6 | Am | (Am) | phrase is repeated near the end.

i also noticed some people were looking for a good 'anemone' tab. the chords are tabbed like this-
E E? E G A Asus2 A Asus2
E--0----0----0---------0----0----0----0----
B--0----0----0----3----2----0----2----0----
G--1----1----1----0----X----X----X----X----
D--2----0----2----0----2----2----2----2----
A--2----0----2----2----0----0----0----0----
E--0----0----0----3-------------------------

there's also a little fill on the third string where the note is bent up and then pulled off from the 2nd fret
E-----------
B-----------
G--2b/\0----
D-----------
A-----------
E-----------

that really fantastic lead is tabbed like so-

E-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D--7--5------------------------5--7b/\--5--7----7--5-------------------------------------
A--------7--5h/o7--7----5h/o7-------------------------7--5h/o7--7------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------------------------5--3--0--3--5--0----

E-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G----------------------------------------------------7-----7h/o9--------------------------
D--7--5------------------------5--7b/\--5--7sl/9--9-----9---------------------------------
A--------7--5h/o7--7----5h/o7----------------------------------------5--3--0--3--5--0----

b/\=bend up and down
h/o=hammer on

Yes, indeed. That C/G is a nice crunchy, driving chord. A great way to propel a song into flight. It features on "the serious matter" if I'm not mistaken!
