Thanks man!! Seemed simple but I just couldn't put my finger on it when i went to try & play it. But this sounds pretty accurate, good job! You wouldn't happen to have/worked on "Leave nothing for Sancho" by any chance? Thanks just the same! mattmunin wrote: eddy wrote: anyone work out the chords to "the godspell.."?
I was sitting around today playing & realised i really wanna play that song & suck for figuring it out on my own. hey, this is one of my favorite ones to play just acoustic! i'm not sure if it's dead on, but heres how i do it. Intro- A D E D A D E (speeds up on that last E) verse- A-----------------D--------E drank a lot... survive.... alive insert the Asus and Dsus as you see fit. hope this helps!!

yurple wrote: shes gone? from what i understand 'she's gone' is in an open-tuning- i'm not sure of the whole thing but i believe the tuning is low to high- C# G# C# F# G# C#- the only string i'm not certain of the tuning is the 3rd string(in this case the F#). but really all that's done is the first chord is all open strings and the second chord is the bottom three strings fretted at the 5th fret- i think that on the recording it's fretted with the thumb (when i saw bjm in 06 and they played 'evergreen' and 'fuck you for fucking me' i noticed that he fretted the chords on the bottom strings with his thumb and used his other fingers to play melodies- pretty amazing to watch). i wish i remember the exact tuning because someone on the old board had figured it out. the melodic part is fairly easy to work out as far as what notes are being played but i'll be damned if i can figure out how that particular tone/sound was achieved- it's confounding.

i used to play 'somewhere' a lot- fantastic song- particularly the one from 'your side of our story' with miranda lee richards (at least that's who it sounds like).
it's pretty easy- in waltz time and pretty much repeats this pattern the whole time- A | Asus2 | G | A | Asus4 | A | Asus2 | repeat E | D | A | E | E | E |E (one beat) D (two beats) | A | Asus2 | G | A | Asus4 | A | Asus2 |
Asus2=normal A chord played with the 2nd string played open Asus4=normal A chord played with a D (3rd fret) played instead of a C# on the 2nd string.

I really wish we could figure out the proper tuning for Evergreen and make a tab for it. I'm horrible at such things haha.
