Now that's definitely some Cosmic American Music! And yes, R.I.P. Chris Etheridge. Always dug his bass line on Graham Nash's "Chicago."

I always thought the Hollies were underrated. Bobby Elliott was one of the best drummers of that time.

The Hollies, "Carrie Anne" 1968 (after Nash left to form CSN)

The Stones playing "Under My Thumb" later on at Altamont before it got ugly. Unfortunate. They were sounding great that night.

Mover

Image

Mover was a great SF band in the mid/late 90s that was fronted by Eric Shea, who puts on the Gram Parsons' "Sleepless Nights" tribute concerts every year. (also quoted in Dig! with "The band you love to hate...and the band you hate to love" or something like that) They had the whole early Stones/Byrds/Gram Parsons/CCR thang down pretty well, but still had their own original unique sound. I was bummed when they broke up.

Here's some samples from their second album, "The Only One" (highly recommend it)

...and some free streaming tracks from their first album, "Original Recipe" It is a little bit more Small Faces/CCR-ish.

Check 'em out.

Loved the Slippin' video. A audio visual sensory dream. Here's a homegrown likely one hit wonder that just tastes good. Cosmic enough. And free download too. Final Spins Let Me Fall

Speaking of the Feelies, here's a cosmic gem from the family tree. The Trypes Morning Glories. Be sure to check out the new Trypes comp. Dark Continents is a keeper.
