I recently went out and bought a Hagstrom Viking semi hollow body. It really sounds killer and I was blown away by the Hagstrom humbuckers. Very nice guitar for the price paid. I do hope to own a Vox one day, maybe if my band gets picked up this summer I'll go ahead and get myself one. I'm currently using.
Alvarez Acoustic
Fender Jagstang
Hagstrom Viking
Fender 4x10 Hot Rod Deville
Vintage FX: Tremolo
Vintage FX: Colordrive
Vintage FX: VFX-OD
Boss: DD-5
Psionic Audio: Triad
Vox: V847 Wah
Fuzzie Bro: Fuzz Pedal
Urso Music: Splinter Pedal
Korg: Pitchblack Tuner
Farndurk: Sunshine Compressor
Farndurk: Trema
(coming soon) The Heavy Deavy Skull Fuzz by Vintage FX

I'm looking to buy a semi-hollow too, and I've heard a lot of good things about the Viking. Have you got any idea how it compares to a Sheraton soundwise which seems to be the main competitor in that price range?

Yeah, I've read those before and it's all dandy and fine, but the only substantial thing I've been able to extract out of them is that it's slightly 'brighter' in sound than an Epi Dot. As I'm not good with technical lingo I thought maybe someone with half decent musical taste (although one of the reviewers on there apparently plays shoegaze) could describe it in terms I'd understand.

Well...
I played some music with some friends today - tried to demonstrate the scratchy wah...it works fine and was awesome and delicious!
Came home, plugged in.
It's back to being scratchy!

Got a Fender Tele, Epiphone Supernova, Dusenberg Double Cat 12 string, Gibson Flying V, Gretsch Historic Acoustic, TEO Mando Guitar, 1970 Gibson EBO Bass and Alden Teardrop Bass. I'm desperate for a Starstream or Ultrasonic!
