Most disappointingly, the show appears to be sold out - is that a fact? I remember seeing something on here somewhere a while back about there might be tickets available - difficult one for me to try on the night as I don't live in London.........any ideas?

Get them on eBay. That's what I did when they last came to London as I'd missed tickets too. You'll have to pay more but it will be worth every penny.

Don't get discouraged. There's ages to go yet. People's plans change so something could well turn up.

I don't doubt the value on offer.........will just have to see if I can afford it at the time. I think I saw something online starting at 50 pounds which is pretty steep for me right now - especially seeing I have to get a flight there and train/tube and eat/drink for one or two days - it becomes an expensive proposition..........we'll see.............I'm intrigued by the new tunes and the reports/videos of the shows so far...........the last time I saw them in Dublin was a bit of a shit show.......there was little energy and whatever there was was negative when some dink threw eggs on the stage. I'd assume that's why they chose to take a miss this time around and to be honest I think I'd rather see them somewhere else anyways......

Thanks for the encouragement Gia.........hope you're well. A change of venue for you I see.......hope you are enjoying it.

Plans do change so who knows, maybe something will pop up.........I'd only be looking for two tickets at the most and maybe only one so makes it a bit easier.

I don't know if the ticketing situation is the same there as it is in the US, but here tickets often become available as the day of show draws near. The venues typically have to hold a few tickets back for local media, promotions, and band friends and family. As the DoS gets closer they have a better idea of how many they really need to reserve and make any excess available for sale. I have been lucky to grab tickets that way by frequently checking the venue's ticket outlet(s).

Soooo happy I already purchased my tickets for the Shepard's Bush show. This will be my first time seeing BJM outside the US.

12StringDreams has a point and he's reminded me of something...

Shepherds Bush Empire has 3 levels (standing at floor level, seats/standing on "Level 1" balcony and seats on "Level 2" balcony). They don't always plan on opening the Level 2 balcony. I think that the BJM show in 2010 only had the floor and Level 1 open. I haven't checked but, if they only put those two areas on sale, then theoretically there might a chance of more tickets if they open up Level 2?

Anyway, best of luck. I did consider coming to London but the flights are super-expensive (bleedin' Olympics, I ask you) and if the show is sold out... :-(

I think somebody has some on UK eBay at £40 a pop at the moment. I agree it's a lot of money to pay and it's even less appealing as that money isn't going to the band, plus the fact you're travelling over. Hopefully this thread means if someone on here has a spare ticket they'll put it your way.

I just picked the above quote to mention something myself. As I read this thread, it became clear to me that some people, for whatever reason, wait till the last moment (duh). Any band that is up-there on my personal fav list that is coming to play live, I buy tics immediately when they are available. Why wait? It only get more expensive, confusing and nerve-racking.

Even though I'm sad fellow forum member(s) may go without, I just can't conjure up much sympathy for procrastinators who claim to be BJM fans, with all the hype surrounding the band's live shows, and they only play once a year (at best)....

Sorry, a bit harsh. I know.

I understand your point, but people's plans do change - not everyone knows what they are doing in a few months time. It's not their fault.

It was actually surprising this show sold out quickly (I guess that's the Boardwalk Empire effect). When Spindrift played in London (supporting Kurt Vile last year), that show sold out instantly - I had some friends who were checking ticket websites every single day waiting for tickets to go on sale and they still didn't manage to get a ticket before it sold out.

I was in a similar situation. I had no plans to be in Europe and then, for various reasons, I found I would be home that week - way after the show had sold out. I do now have a ticket, thanks to a miracle, but miracles don't happen all the time, right?

Masterrobot. Another viewpoint. Both Manchester central Travelodges have rooms available for only £25 in total and Manc tickets are still available at face value. So even though it would mean paying for accommodation, this could still be cheaper than London. Plus Manchester shows have always been great in the past (and I've not been to a London show but I'm not sure they sound as much fun as Manc.) Can you get cheap flights to Manchester as if so it may work out to be cheaper and less stressful? (plus Manchester transport is cheaper and the venue is within walking distance to town.) As a Northern lass I never understand London being seen as the ultimate epicentre of a great night out!

The Manchester "package" will be a cheaper and probably a better option , only downside is the fact it's on a Sunday.

I've always found gigs in the "North" far superior to any gigs in London , on saying that I will be in London , it is a Saturday, and there's a gathering of the clans happening which will ensure a nice and messy affair.

Tickets may still appear , there's alweays last minute hitches and people can't make the gig , I'll keep my ears to the ground for you.
