Do you find the space echo noisy ? Bought one recently and it rules however when it's not engauged I still get a lot of noise coming from it, some sort of repeating signal. I have it last in my chain and run it off a 9v psu.

No noise problems here. It is actually pretty quiet. I have used a 9v psu, currently using Voodoo Pedal Power 2+ due to noise issues with other (EH) pedals. Regarding the repeats when disengaged, there are a couple comments in the manual that might apply. Do either of these sound like they fit you problem:

------ RE-20------
Echo sounds not cancelled even when effect is switched off

Do you have a long delay time set?
Try turning the ECHO VOLUME knob completely to the left (counterclockwise); this allows you to cancel the continuing sounds.

Is the Intensity turned up?
Try turning the INTENSITY knob or ECHO VOLUME knob completely to the left (counterclockwise); this allows you to cancel the continuing sounds.

Sounds output even with no sound input

Is the Intensity setting turned up?
With higher Intensity settings, even when no sounds are being input, the repeat sound gradually increases in volume, and oscillation in the sound may occur. Set the INTENSITY knob at some point to the left of the center position.
------RE-20------

I have the repeats, intensity and mix dialed down when I run the pedal in front.

Hope this helps.

This thread needs to be revived. Recently bought a Burns Double Six reissue. It is my first electric 12 string I've ever bought so needless to say , pretty excited. Whilst I got nothing to compare it to, the quality of this instrument is incredible. The fretboard is fairly wide but really easy to run your finger along and has a great finish to it.

I'm wondering how the bridge will hold up after a while though, it seems rather small for a 12 string but I'm not sure if that's normal. I paid roughly 800aud brand new so was quite a good buy. I first seen Matt Tow playing one in a show in Australia, don't know if he's was an original or a copy. I wonder if Elvis actually used to play one.

Matt Tow's one is a reissue. Anyway, these reissues are best 12 string guitars for the money (I had one) but not identicals to the original 60s one (construction is a little bit different and sounds less harsh too).
I can say that because I own one now :

I'll go first...

Yes I have tried to capture the BJM sound. I have purchased a 12-string Phantom reissue guitar, a vintage Fender Twin Reverb, a gibson semihollow, and a Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue. All in an attempt to get closer to some of the tomes I hear in the BJM catalog.

So maybe I'll post a few pix tomorrow. Its always better with images. It's a bit late right now though. So I am heading to bed soon.

I just wanted to get something out to the board to keep momentum up. Seems like the forum has been picking up momentum over the early cource of the tour.

How have you found the Deluxe Reverb ? I'm tossing up between a twin or deluxe. Does it have enough cleanroom to handle reasonably sized gigs ? Do you find the reverb as deep as compared to the Twin's ? Can it get over a drummer without too much break up ? I've got an average back and the Twin's weight does concearn me a little.

The Deluxe Reverb is one of my favorites. But one reason why I like it is because it breaks up pretty early so I don't need to run it at high volume to get that "on the edge of breakup" sound. I'm not sure it would work well in the application you described unless you were miking the amp. Sound-wise, the Deluxe Reverb is great; the reverb and tremolo are similar to the Twin. The overall sound is similar but the sound of the the 6v6 power section is a bit grittier and is easily over driven compared to the Twin. There just is not a lot of head room when compared to the Twin. The 22w power section is loud but it won't be clean.

I definitely understand your concerns regarding you back -- my old back is easily tweaked and the Twin is pretty hefty. My Twin has removable casters on it though, so it is easy to roll around but it is a beast to lug around when I have to carry it.

Hope this helps. Ideally you'll get a chance to A/B both the amps.

I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a $300-500 guitar that is nice to play, and can recreate some of the BJM sound? I currently have a Ibanez Artcore am73, just dropped her on the neck and cracked it though.

Just bought an Epiphone Casino a couple months ago and I absolutely love it. Its from the peerless factory in Korea made in 2001 and managed to find it for $545 on eBay with hardshell case. those p-90s just sing through my twin, and you can actually get a little growl out of the bridge pickup. i highly recommend that for your price range and fit and finish can't be beat for that money.

anybody here play with the Ehx Graphic Fuzz? I just picked one up a couple weeks ago and it seems to be a really cool pedal but I can't seem to dial in a tone I like yet. I'm sure with some tweaking I will find it but just wondering if any of you out there play one and what settings you use. I play it through a few different guitars straight into a fender twin

the sheraton is really great imho, the finish is quite good, i sounds beatiful, and you can upgrade it pretty easily by changing the pickups when ever you get the money to do it ... i think it would also be a pretty good choice in your price range.
the nick valensi epiphone riviera is absolutely great too, a bit more expansive though, can someone confirm ?

If someone here is interested in a very nice EKO Dragon of 1967 (same era as Ultrasonic, Cheetah, Starstream ... ) it's for sale here right now on ebay : http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150379982636&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:FR:1123
As EKO produced VOX guitars of this era, it shares a lot of designs with VOX guitars and the Dragon delivers very "VOXish" sounds.
More, the EKO Dragon is a very rare guitar and (for collectors) it was bought from Zack from The December Sound.
Don't miss this great guitar !
