A new song is up on the website for free and the new record
The Tarnished Gold will be out June 26th 2012.

Two shows so far
Sonoma CA - June 2nd
Pappy and Harriets Pioneertown CA - June 21 with
Chris Robinson playing two sets.

I will be going to the Pappy and Harriets show in Pioneertown for the first time
any advise on thing to check out in the Joshua Tree area , sounds like a cosmic place.

Any love for Beachwood Sparks out there anymore.....

Peace on Starlake.

I still really dig Beachwood Sparks and their vibe. Some sativa tinged warm weather listen in the mountains. They sounded great their last time together in SF at Bottom of the Hill in 2008

That's lovely news. Hope to catch a show sometime, somewhere...

I was lucky enough to be able to see Beachwood Sparks play yesterday at the cool Huichica Music Festival at Gundlach Bundschu winery in Sonoma. It was a beautiful warm Sonoma day quaffing wine made from grapes grown on the premises, seeing good bands and eating great food like gorditas stuffed with chicken from vendors like Chaac Mool:

Also, earlier in town around Sonoma Plaza, there were also some great vintage cars in town for the Historic Race Car Festival this past weekend. Some beautiful lines and rides.

The show setting on a hillside was beautiful overlooking the vineyards, woods and a pond/small lake and...ahem...holy smokes, there were a lot of cute women there for a small-ish festival.

Beachwood Sparks headlined and at first, I didn't recognize Chris Gunst (lead singer) without his familiar long locks as he had cut it pretty short, but then I saw his light blue Fender guitar and heard his voice. They still sounded great. Farmer Dave, Brent and Aaron from the first original album were back as well as 3 other familiar faces on steel guitar, guitar and organ. I have some pics I'll have to upload at some point. Well, back to work and reality tomorrow morning.

Here's one from their new album:

That sounds like a lovely evening. Thanks for the report.

Hope I get to see them here in LA (there's a "listening party" but no actual show, from what I can see)

I ended up pre-ordering the new CD from Sub-Pop's yesterday for $12 + postage. It supposedly includes a "Tarnished Gold" red tote bag for early orders.

Farmer Dave's debut presentation of his song sounded great on Saturday night. The weaved Navajo blanket draped over his right shoulder while singing greatly added to the effect. (Maybe, I thought, the blanket would just take on a life of its own)

Then we realized it may have just been all the wine and indica>sativa strains doing the talking...

Just got the new CD "The Tarnished Gold" this week in mail and giving it yet another spin now. It's really good. Seriously. Go get it and support them. (You'll be doing yourself a favor)

Beachwood Sparks, "Water from the Well"

Also see a listening party and shows coming up for them:

June 26: Record release listening party, The Satellite, Los Angeles, CA
July 18: The Catalyst Club, Santa Cruz, CA
July 19: The Independent, San Francisco CA
July 21: Pappy and Harriet’s, Pioneertown, CA

Could The Tyde be coming back in?
