You're lucky you have the luxury of seeing them live all the time if you wanted to. I live in Chicago, and while it has a decent music scene, there's really no psych scene. You guys have a couple of the best psych bands around, Magic Castles and Flavor Crystals. I'd venture to say that anyone who digs the Castles would like Flavor Crystals, though they have an entirely different sound. Similar to 90's Yo La Tengo at their dreamiest, with slow melodies and atmospherics mixed with faster, almost Krautrock rhythms.

BTW, I just recently downloaded Dropbox, but I've only ever shared with a couple friends, and I'm not sure how to share with you guys. But I can put up their new self-titled (256kbps or wav) and their '09 album, 'Dreams of Dreams of Dreams.'(only 192 kbps) Is there a way to do it so I'm not opening my computer up to tons of people?

Uploading that album now so I'll get it to you in a minute or two. With DropBox you put the files on their computers so people aren't getting it straight from yours, you just post a link which shows the files you've put on there and people (anyone you've given the link to) can download them until you decide to take them off. If you could put the two you have up that would be great, I've never been able to work out what the consensus is amongst forum members about sharing music this way but I'm down and I've had lots of people send me stuff in the past.

Ok, cool thanks. I'll put those two on there when I get home in 4 hrs or so (like 4pm central). Hopefully, since I guess you can't link to folders, but only the files themselves, they don't get all mixed up on there. But that shouldn't be a problem since they're all labeled properly. I might be PMing you ElectricKoolAid, if I need help, but it seems simple enough.

BTW, I think sharing music is a great way to spread the word about good bands that wouldn't otherwise get the exposure. I download free music sometimes, but if I dig a band, I'll usually end up buying the CD cuz I'm still stuck in the 90's and have to have a physical copy.

OK, got off early so here goes. I don't know how to link to all the files at once like ElectricKoolaid, so you have to download each file individually. BTW, track 2 on the self-titled is called "Now I'm a Little CLOUD" not "COLD" as it's listed. For some reason the iTunes download is wrong, and even though I changed the file name, it's still showing up wrong on here. Same with "Emery Memories," which is supposed to be "Emery's Memories" according to my CD copy. Even though on 'Dreams of Dreams' it's spelled EMORY's. Whatever, just FYI. This post is the new self-titled, the next one will be 2009's 'Dreams of Dreams of Dreams.'

[Edit: I'm only going to leave this one up til tonight, as I sort of forgot this was released on Anton's 'A' Records, and I wasn't thinking about how stupid it is to post the album for free on a BJM message board. I'll leave 'Dreams of Dreams' up, as it's out of print anyway (as is 'Lore of Mysticore'), so if you download 'Dreams' and 'Lore' you'll basically have all the songs that are on the new self-titled anyway. You'll just be missing "Songs of the Forest," which you can get for like 99 cents on iTunes. Also, "Emery's Memories" is a different take, slightly longer than the one on 'Dreams,' and previously unreleased.]

Sorry about that guys, but I just feel guilty posting an album that was just recently released by Anton, and don't want to take money out of his pocket. I was just excited for more people to hear some Magic Castles. If you like the two albums posted by ElectricKoolAid and myself, you should def still check out the self-titled comp, as the sound quality, while not much different when listening with an iPod, is definitely superior when listening on a good stereo. Not sure if the songs were remastered, or if it's just the difference between 192kbps and 256kbps.

'Dreams of Dreams of Dreams'- "Silver Moonlight Golden Thread" is probably my favorite song not to make the new self-titled comp, but nearly every song here is top-notch, though tighter and not as jammed out as their '08 album 'The Lore of Mysticore.'
