Alright then, let's talk; no need to get hung up about "fuck yous"...(my best friends,,,and most valued friends...have said "fuck you" to me at crucial times)... anyway...

calling yourself Rowed Out would be ridiculous...(my cross to bear).

next...whatever the name, it will happen to you...you will merely be present at its inception. All you have to do is capture that moment. It doesn't matter who says it. It will be a name that resonates with you. It will be right and you will know it (is right). I have no idea what it might be.

It all depends upon what your personal proclivities might be...it will be the sound that captures your sound. That's the best way I can put it.

You will authorize the capture of that sound at its inception. The name brian jonestown massacre is dominated by "a" and "o"...the first and the fourth...let the chordal implications be your guide..the third "i" starts it off>>>a,e,i,o,u
see Rimbaud,, the alchemy of the verb..

Read everything you can.., Absorb it.,, use it.,...

WhaT I WOULD want to know is: what means anything to you. Why are you doing this (attempting the hubristic act of creation)? What are you trying to do by writing songs in the first place? If you don't know the answers to these questions, then your audience will be just as in the dark..

What is the best thing you could imagine coming from your compositions and recordings? Why the fuck are you doing it? that should guide you. There should be some metaphor or image that encapsulates that project. And it should be an image that defies all complaint.

Roxy Music defies all complaint. No one knows what the fuck 'roxy music' is!

Supplement:

The question "why are you doing this?" is not the same as "don't do this"...

every act of creation is hubristic, evil. that's no reason not to do it. choose yourself as evil. it's the condition necessary for anything good to appear.

the name can designate why you are doing this, the moment when you know, decide: this is going to be great.

What would be an alternate way to "create" without acting (or is it impossible?)?
Spontaneity? For example, we agree to hate/disagree but not to kill our own kind.
Also, different creations have different degrees of impact on a given "thing", correct? Most are inconsequential, i think.

I am not very sure that all human creation could be a result of evil (thought?) only.

There is no creation without an act. To create implies novelty, bringing forth something new, something that does not yet exist or did not exist prior to the act of creation. Inaction merely authorizes what already exists, the already created.

Your question about spontaneity suggests that you are thinking the question in terms of subjectivity or some act of subjective genius. I am not trying to think it in that way, although there is a certain "letting be" involved. What I am trying to get at is that engagement with the world (and not just self-involvement) in which something occurs and is at the same time a moment of "crystallization" (hard to find the word for it) and the act of creation is the being present to that moment in a way that "memorializes" it, "writes" it, realizes it, makes it real.

When I use the word evil here, as at any time, the word is loaded with moral connotations. Try to think of evil without its meaning something morally bad, then you may see what I mean. I don't mean evil as in something morally bad. Where absolute evil and absolute good coincide, their distinction cannot be decided. The "beyond" beyond good and evil is logically prior to the decision about "good" and "evil," i.e. the beyond is before the settling of the question about the morally good and bad. Because the "absolute" of good and evil coincide, blur into indistinction, or simply do not matter at the limit (moment of priority to the distinction), this moment of creative potentiality is always viewed as evil, transgressive. And it is always viewed as evil because the act (creative), if it really is creative, always destabilizes the existing notion of the good -- by making it (the distinction between good and evil) blurry, undecidable. It is such uncertainty that most often is cast out in the world still dominated by Cartesian reason (science/ technology). What would be more creative than a technology that disabled all technologies before it? What would be more destabilizing?

I'm afraid to ask...what's the name?

Oh, and I apologize for all the philosophical masturbation on my part. :) It often takes me days to pull my head out of my ass...

Haha we actually were going to jettison it, as it is kinda dumb! Hence asking for name ideas. We got some recognition for it now tho...
