I think it's only been released on vinyl once, in 2007 by A records. 2,000 copies: some black, some purple and some a sort of deep red colour. Not 100% sure though.

Beautiful cover art...

Do the songs sounds like the youtube videos or is it a different mix ?

So I have a copy of 'Satanic Majesties' currently winging it's way to me via this very website. I'm pleasantly surprised by how much is still readily available: I had copies of TPW (Vol I and II) and B, R and N, but in the last month I've been able to locate most of the catalog on vinyl.

I haven't addressed the singles yet, one step at a time. But I was able to grab copies of both Smoking Acid and Kicking Jesus; what appears to be avoiding me is a copy of Strung Out In Heaven. Anyone point me in a direction I haven't looked yet? I mean, I understand the history with TVT, but there must be loads of copies of that album somewhere, no??

Discogs.com has been extremely helpful in my quest to complete my BJM collection. The other day, I managed to grab what was advertised as a MINT and SEALED copy of Strung Out in Heaven for only $8.99. Bottom line, I watch this record sell for over 100 bucks about once or twice a month. It's about as hard to get and expensive as TPW.

According to the seller, it's been shipped, but I seriously have no idea what to expect in the mail. Perhaps they mislabeled a CD as a LP or maybe it's a bootleg.

Coldon, you are the person who got there before me! As soon as I saw the email I went on the site but when I tried to buy it, it had already been sold. (shakes fist)

I wondered about it being a CD mislabelled too as I believe the listing said it was a re-issue, which as far as I'm aware doesn't exist. But hopefully it's actually an original mislabelled, in which case you're lucky to have grabbed a great bargain!

Ouch! Sorry about that, brother! I'm getting pretty close to completing the 12" collection, so I had to act quick. I'm sure you understand the feeling.

It looks like you are in luck though. The mystery resurfacing of the LP continues on Sound Stage Direct:

I ordered Strung Out from SoundStageDirect and I can confirm it is a different pressing than original. The packaging is identical, same cat# and barcode, minus the sticker on the shrink wrap only present on the original. The dead wax has a different catalog number on this "new" version.

Listening now and sounds as good as the original. A lot of music on each side...so this album's pressing is limited.

tepid linernotes

Are these linear notes part of a gatefold or is it an insert? I just got the black vinyl version in the mail and it's not gatefold, but didn't come with any linear note sheets.
