I know Anton uses a lot of vox's and a uses a lot of Fender Twins but does anyone know of much of the effects that seem to be a regular in a lot of his songs or what pedals he generally likes to use ? I'm sorta trying to piss fart around and get more into pedals and the like.

I don't think Anton really uses pedals.

His Vox Cheetah has built in effects that he uses.

A couple other guys in the band do use pedals quite frequently though.

Yeah Ricky uses quite a few, he did post a list of them on the old forum. Think he has one of those Line 6 modelers, maybe the delay one.

They probably use the usual dirt selection ... tubescreamers/overdrives (looked like Anton was using a boss OD at the NYC show); Fuzz (either big muff or fuzzface); Rats

They also obviously use the effects on the Twin Reverbs, which are reverb and vibrato. Other than that, it is tough to tell.

Oh yeah, Ricky also mentioned he uses a Raagini, I think it's some kind of electric tambura:

can't tell you about anton (though the pics from NYC DID make it look like he had the orange boss OD pedal) or frankie, but in BJM Ricky uses:

Dunlop volume, boss tu-2 tuner, boss rv-3 reverb/delay, morley a/b box, mxr dual distortion, menatone dirty blonde overdrive, colorsound fuzz/wah, danelectro "dan echo" delay, line 6 delay modeler with cv pedal. and like alfredo said, he does use the RAAGINI and relies heavily on the twin's reverb and trem.

I still had that photo of Frankie's pedals lying around in my photobucket account so here it is again...

(Seattle show, Sept 2007).

So it's a Little Big Muff (got it right this time?) plus the reverb from the Fender Twin (the other pedals are a Z-Vex Super Duper 2-in-1 and a tuner).

Never tried taking a photo of Ricky's pedals but hey, I've only got 2GB of disk space free at the moment...

In Sweden June 2008 Anton used Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive and Boss RE-20 Space Echo...

Ricky had huge pedalboard and Frankie seemed to plug just straight-in to his Super Reverb...

Anton uses Boss OD3 or SD1, because these two pedals have the same color, yellow. Anyone have seen if its the OD3 or the SD1?

Hi.

Well i can basically say that we as a band use whatever's available around at the time... we're not gear nerds per se but there are some preferences. and anti-preferences... That said anton and various others have probably used most pedals everyone else has at one point or another. (Nothing you'd generally find in a pedalboard for Mettalica for instance) (also bear in mind that everything we used to own got stolen a couple years back) Currently anton is using an sd1 into a boss space echo pedal. he does also occasionally use the fuzz built into the vox guitar. I know that he prefers to use those black Ross distortion pedals. it seems like 'yall've figured out what ricky and frankie use on stage. I use a big Muff for fuzz on the bass (but a lot of the bass fuzz comes from turning a blackface bassman up all the way) (a lot of the distortion happens this way). but honestly most of the effects that are used are either built into the amps or the guitar (tremolo bars, etc.) or just plain unusual playing techniques/tunings. And it should be kept in mind that the studio is another beast altogether and there's really no way to tell what was used. But, generally, i'd say that many times what sounds like an effect is anton just playing weird. I'd say he has a general aversion to them....

picking up an old thread...
Anton also uses currently the ZVEX Distortron and of course the Sonic Boom pedal by Acid Fuzz.
