Don't see anyone mentioning this :

just three or four months after Third World Pyramid, we re already getting a new BJM album. Anton's on a binge these days.
Looks like it's gonna be classic BJM sounding than the previous one. Also, really like the cover art.

You missed a word, Kylounette. Did you mean more classic or less? I'm expecting a very experimental album that's quite removed from the classic sound.

oh yeah, sorry about that. definitely meant less classic sounding.
I actually really liked Third World Pyramid, more so than Revelation. But overall, I miss the weird experimentation we got circa Who Killed Sgt Pepper. Aufheben was to me a perfect in between, and having Anton then going back to the good old BJM was somehow not so exciting, as far as I am concerned. But to be fair, he s more going 50/50 these days, for instance putting out something like Musique de Film Imaginé, and even Revelation had a couple of not so middle of the road tracks.

Anyway, whatever it sounds like, it s a pleasure to see him being so prolific these days. Isn't he turning 50 this year, by the way ?

on a completely unrelated note, I've been reading Playing The Bass With Three Left Hands, by the last of the English gentlemen Will Carruthers himself. Everyone here should enjoy it, it s a real cool book and great fun to read. I hope I'll grow old as down to earth than him. Also, it s often pretty fucking hilarious.

I can agree with that, "Aufheben" was the perfect mixture of classic and moving forward. It would be also great if the whole BJM band would write a new album TOGETHER with some ideas from each member. I think Anton never worked this way, i know, but i think it finally would be time for that.

Im avoiding demos & waiting for final product..aufheben is AA Newcombe's swansong..no doubt..though not as spiritual as Their Satanic Majesties' Second Request..

As much as I thought Third World Pyramid was great, this new album is more what I like to find in a BJM album these days. Going in many directions, always trying new things. Real cool yeah.

also it's good to see that Anton doesn't lose his taste for interesting titles. I would say that this time around, Acid 2 Me Is No Worse Than War gets the prize. An argument could be made for Nothing New To Trash Like You being a strong contender, though.
