Spindrift? Playing Birmingham? In a couple of month's time? Get in. This forum delivers on gig info once again. 8)

But is that for sure? Any idea where? Probably the Flapper I'm thinking. Can't find any info anywhere else on the 'net however.

Birmingham is Sasha's hometown so I'm sure it will definitely happen!

In case you haven't seen the new website, The Rainbow. Never heard of it myself, but it's got to be better than that place the BJM played that smelled of wee...

So today is Spindrift record release day! If anyone gets to the show at Bassy in Berlin tonight , please post a report. This was the show I would have got to, if the hearing I was going to hadn't been cancelled.

People who are getting downloads should have their codes.

Anyone who donated more money will be getting a cd but wil have to wait a couple more weeks, as they won't be posting them out until they are back from their tour. So late May, early June, as stated on Kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/164 ... rift/posts)

I did have a slight whinge on my Facebook status about having paid more money to wait longer, not naming any bands or albums, and got a message pointing me to that update, saying nothing had changed.

Chastened and impatient, I bought it from iTunes. I love it, of course, but I still don't think they've ever captured the way they sound live.

Yup, seen that, shall almost definitely be going. Cheers for the info. Apparently Sasha used to gig around Brum with a cult local band who sound pretty alright and I never knew of them. The Rainbow has an excellent reputation. I used to go there in the old days before clubbing at the Custard Factory when it was pretty rough but apparently it's been done-up and is about the nicest place to see live music in Birmingham at the moment, for anyone thinking of going.

The Flapper, old Academy, Scruffy Murphys, Irish Club, Edwards No. 8.. any of those could be the stinky place. And the new Academy doesn't get much love. Birmingham will be Birmingham...

Hey S17. I just read something on Facebook, a Kickstarter project update, that indicated things will start moving forward with mailing cd later this month. Hard to get things done in the middle of a Euro tour.

Popped over to Amsterdam (as you do) to see Spindrift support Kurt Vile. They were on great form. It's the first time I've seen the new line up and they sure are giving it 110%! If any UK folks can get to their handful of shows over here, please go support them and see a great band!

May 19th, Corsica Studio, London (with Kurt Vile)
May 20th, Wood Festival, Braziers Park, Oxford
May 21st, The Rainbow, Birmingham

How cool to simply "pop over" to A-dam! Wish I could say something like that from LA. :-(
