Dont think I quite have a grip on what styles american ipa can be....... so think it need a bit more research...
I am back home now so coming by this sort of stuff is going to become tricky. Racer 5 is a pretty good brew too.

Has anyone tried Stone's Double Bastard? The arrogant bastard is pretty good, but I usually go for the ruination IPA when picking a stone. Wondering if the double will be any stronger.

fugs not tried the double bastard before but a shipment is due in to the Uk soon so going to give them all a spin... but will check out the ruination
In my above picture is a case of the Stone old Guardian, 11% barley wine ..... might give that a spin in a hour or so.... maybe wait for it to get dark, seems perverse to drink something so strong so early in the night.

Stone is up amongst my favorite breweries... I havent tried their barleywine though! I also want to try the Stone Vertical Epic, brewed with cinnamon and Anaheim chiles i think? Lagunitas still takes #1 for me. Try the Lagunitas WTF... it will leave you asking... WTF have I been drinking all these years?
Firestone is a fav, Ballast Point is fantastic, Speakeasy is a good one, Green Flash is superb, Dogfish head is too expensive... I'm truly blessed in the ways of breweries living in the SF bay area.
I'm a huge nut for IPA's.
